Record Store Day started in 2007 with over 700 independent record stores in the USA coming together with artists to celebrate music. The UK followed and is now in it's sixth year.
I'm based in London so I split my time between Rough Trade East, East London and Sister Ray on Berwick Street in Soho.
Sister Ray put on an outdoor stage and a great line up which consisted of Matthew E White, Steve Mason and Wire. Over at Rough Trade East London hundreds queued to watch the likes of The Strypes and Paul Weller. Words and photos: Robin Pope
