This week the post-punk London band Savages played the NME Awards Show at Electric Ballroom to an audience packed with photographers, press and punters. The all-female four-piece are lead vocalist Jehnny Beth, Gemma Thompson (guitar), Ayse Hassan (bass) and Fay Milton (drums) who have been described as an art band with a live show influenced by Siouxsie and the Banshees. Savages are surrounded by a vast hype but remain unaffected. Their energetic punk sound is loud and resonant with a thrilling vulnerability and determination. Photos: Robin Pope
