East London Printmakers is a printmaking studio in the heart of London’s East End. Their new show at the Triangle Gallery in Space Studios will bring together fifty printmakers working in the studio to give an overview of how print as a medium is being used today.

A summer fete will also be held in the courtyard. ELP and Le Gun will be producing a giant linocut with a full size steam roller. There will be live hands-on demonstrations where visitors can print their own bag or t shirt. Also, traditional games of skill and chance including Garudio Studiage’s ‘lucky skip’. For the children - face and potato printing. And of course, a barbeque and bar and live musical performances and DJs.

Now in its twelfth year, the studio is well-placed in an area known for its collision of cultures and urban ferment. It is in the vibrant epicentre of London’s thriving arts scene. East London Printmakers has an exciting mix of artist members, from art school graduates and university tutors, to self-taught innovators. There are artists who fuse printmaking with hybrid media, artists with a painterly approach, and those whose work is more conceptually based. There is space in the studio for cross collaboration and themed work, but enough space too for individual focus and ambitious solo work.

East London Printmakers has put together numerous successful group shows over the past 12 years, most recently ‘Eleven’ at Bankside in SE1 and Wonderland at the V & A Museum of Childhood.
The studio’s annual edition of a box set of prints is held in the print collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in South Kensington.
